Paper High Journals - Plain Leather
Our beautiful Fair Trade leather journals make for a great diary, travel journal, inspiration book or simple notebook. The journals have been expertly hand-stitched and the leather covers age really well so they are happy to take a few knocks!
Each journal is handmade and contains unlined khadda paper. Khadda paper is made from recycled cotton, is acid-free and is a beautiful paper to write or draw on.
Due to the handmade nature of these products colour and designs may slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.

All the products in this range are made by a small family business in Rajasthan who we have worked with for many years following Fair Trade guidelines. We visit every year and we now know the producers and their families well and consider them true friends. We are proud that together we are able to provide people in rural villages fairly paid work that would have otherwise been difficult to find.
The khadda paper used in the products is handmade using recycled cotton leftover from the massive garment industry in India. The paper is made by a charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages.
The leather used for the covers is a byproduct of the meat industry and is tanned using natural dyes.
We respect our producers and it is very important to us that we treat them fairly. We pay all our producers 50% upfront and send money to them whenever they need it and we never return anything, even if it’s damaged. To incentivise the staff, we have a bonus system in place.
